Springfield's Favorite Family Arrives in Psyonix's Hit Game: But It's Not the Car You're Hoping For
We already knew that The Simpsons was collaborating with Fortnite, but that's not the only destination where fans can experience the universe of Springfield. The beloved show is also making its way to Rocket League, introducing an vehicle customization option that will also be usable in Fortnite. However, whether players will actually want to use it is another question, as there's only one Simpsons vehicle everyone is itching to drive, and this isn't it.
The Dream Vehicle
Although most gamers would undoubtedly love to compete while driving Homer's custom creation—the notoriously impractical automobile the patriarch designed himself in the 1991 episode "Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?"—that's not what players are receiving. We aren't even receiving the massive SUV, the heavy-duty truck showcased in the tenth season. Rather, players will obtain the family's standard well-worn sedan, which they've been driving since 1989. Though this particular car has seen better days, it stands as an iconic element of the show. And for players who analyze Rocket League vehicle dimensions, the Simpson family car shares the same hitbox as the Dominus.

More Than Just a Car
But that's not the sole cosmetic from the series coming to Rocket League. This limited-time event will additionally feature a set of challenges to unlock more rewards, all of which are inspired by the show. According to a press release, the missions will require players to "get as many centers and clears as there are The Simpsons years on air, collect boost pickups as if your GPS is set to The Simpsons’ house, and travel a specific distance sufficient for picking up the perfect donuts!"
While the complete list of challenge rewards hasn't been revealed, here is what's been announced up to this point:
- Blinky topper
- Homer's hedge-themed banner
- Garbage-themed wheels
- 20,000 experience points for each challenge
If the key art is any indication, it appears players will also get wheels featuring a TV showing the show's opening credits, alien antenna toppers, a sprinkled donut boost trail, and boost effects inspired by burning tires and Krusty's famous restaurant.

The Rocket League collaboration lines up with the major Simpsons takeover of Fortnite, which brings a completely new map of Springfield, in addition to a 30-day Battle Pass. The Rocket League x The Simpsons celebration begins on November 1st and ends on November 17th.
