The national team terminated the reigning champions the Proteas' winning streak by achieving a 93-run margin triumph in an entertaining and hard-fought first Test in Lahore.

Left-arm spinner Noman Ali, who claimed 10-191 in the game, removed Tristan Stubbs for two and clean bowled Brevis, who put up a fight with a rapid 54.
Right-arm spinner Sajid Khan also capitalized on sharp turn to end opener Ryan Rickelton's stay - he lasted 145 deliveries for 45 - and Shaheen returned in the post-lunch session to knock over the lower order with a impressive exhibition of reverse swing.
He trapped Verreynne leg before for 19 and dismissed Subrayen and Kagiso Rabada to secure the victory.
It was both sides' opening game of the 2025-27 Test championship cycle and propels Pakistan directly into the number two spot behind table-toppers the Australian team.
